Getting Started: Creating A Confidential “Backpack”

1   From the EPL home page, click “Start”, then “Statewide” or “Area”, then Training Provider” or “Training Program”, then Backpack (upper right).

1  If a new user, click New User Registration – complete the user registration form (* indicates required fields).

1  Click Submit, then “Continue Browsing” to return to EPL home page.

1  If a previous user, type in your user ID and password - click Login

1  Click Eligible Provider Hometo keep browsing.

1  You can save training provider information to a personal Backpack and view the contents at anytime during your visit to the EPL website.


Getting Started: Beginning Your Search

2  From the home page, click Instructions to read how to use this site or Information to learn about WIA legislation and the EPL.  Click back to home page when finished reading.

2  Click Start (in the lower right corner).

2  On the geographical area locator page, choose a preferred location to begin your search.

Ø    A clickable WIA map appears on left and an alphabetical list of areas on the right.

Ø    Click Area Locator at the top if unsure in which area a county is located.

Ø    Select an Area by clicking on either the map or the list.

2  To begin your search, click Training Provider (to find a specific provider) or Training Program (to find a specific program and a list of eligible providers offering the program). 

2  An option for statewide Keyword Search is also available on this page to search for a specific program or provider.

Selecting/Searching By “Training Provider”

33   A list of training providers in the selected area appears on the left.  For faster searching, a quick jump appears above provider list. Click on selected provider or use the quick jump to see all providers that begin with a certain letter. (You can also select a different geographical area using the Areas drop-down box at the top right or use the statewide Keyword Search at the top left to search for a specific provider or program.)

3  General information about the training provider appears at the right under Description.

3  Click Map (right of provider name) for a map/directions to find where provider is located.

Ø    Type in starting address, then click Get Directions (upper right).  Click Printfor a copy of the directions, and Backto return to Training Provider page.

3  Click Programs (top right of Description) for a list of ITA approved programs offered by that provider.

3  Click on the selected program of choice – specific program information appears in a pop-up box.  (You can print information or exit/close box.)

3  To save this Provider to your personal Back Pack for later viewing, return to the provider information description page and click Save at the top right.

A feature is available to compare training providers from this Training Provider page.

3  Click Compare Providers (in the upper right corner).

3  A list of providers in the selected area appears at right - select up to 3 providers for comparison.

3  Selected providers appear on the left.

3  Click Compare (in the lower left corner).

3  General comparison information appears on the right - other comparison options on the left (“Topics or Program of Study).

3  Click on other comparison option(s) if needed - comparison information appears at right.

Selecting/Searching By  “Training Program”

4  A list of ITA approved programs in the selected area appears on the left.  Click on a selected program to view general program description. (You can also select a different geographical area using the Areas drop-down box at the top right or use the statewide Keyword Search at the top left to search for a specific program.)

4  General program description appears on the right – Training Providers offering the program appear immediately below the description.

4Click on selectedTraining Program – specific program information appears in a pop-up box .  (You can print information or exit/close box.)  Duplicate program listings indicate multiple credential levels.

4 Click on selected Training Provider general information about the Training Provider appears at right. 

4  Click Programs(top/right of Description) for a list of ITA approved programs offered by that provider.

4  Click on the selected program of choice - specific program information appears in pop-up box (you can either print the information or exit/close the pop-up box).

4  A feature is available to compare training providers from this Training Provider page.

4  Click Compare Providers (in the upper right corner).

4  A list of providers in selected area appears at right - select up to 3 providers for comparison.

4  Selected providers appear on the left.

4  Click Compare(in the lower left corner).

4  General comparison information appears on the right - other comparison options on the left (“Topics” or “Program of Study”).

4  Click on other comparison option(s) if needed - comparison information appears at right.

 

Using Statewide Keyword Search

*  Type in chosen word(s), click “Enter” or Statewide Keyword Search. 

*  Search results page displays Potential related Programs at left – Training Providers that offer related program on right.

*  Click on the Program of Study header to read a general description.

*  Retype keyword to return to search results page.

*  Click on the specific Program Title to view providers that offer the program  (at right).

*  Click on a Training Provider to view provider information.

 

Reminders:  Links are available at the upper right corner to move directly to Eligible Provider Home page, Training Providers and Training Programs search functions, and to view Back Pack from most destinations in the website.

 

At the bottom of most destination pages, direct links are available to the Georgia Career Information Center, Georgia Department of Labor, QuickStats (Labor Market Information) and Local Workforce Investment Boards.  Use the Contact Us link for questions related to this website.
